Feeding the Homeless
November 27, 2014
The Opportunity Center would like to thank the El Paso Independent School District’s leadership team and Board of Managers for their gracious decision to donate leftover food from regional EPISD campuses to the Opportunity Center. This decision will help the Opportunity Center continue to provide over 10,000 nutritious meals a month to area homeless individuals. This innovative pilot program will benefit almost 400 people daily, as they work to regain their station in our community. Such a partnership is the cornerstone behind the continued success of the Opportunity Center and will allow us to advance our mission of caring for those who have no one else to care for them. We are grateful to all those who worked diligently to make this partnership a reality. We are confident that this partnership with the EPISD will continue to provide critical resources for our areas homeless population. Many Thanks!
Homerun for the Homeless
July 26, 2014
we had a great community event that helped the homeless. It was our first 5K Run / 5K Fun Walk and Kids Dash. It was an event that helped raise funds needed for our shelter and awareness about homelessness in our community.
We are extremely thankful to our sponsors, our event coordinators, Race Adventures Unlimited, and of course to the Southwest University Park.
