About Us
The Opportunity Center for the Homeless (OC) provides safe shelter, food, and support services for up to 350 individuals on any given night of the year. Founded in 1994, the Opportunity Center for the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in El Paso, Texas, and is the largest night/emergency day resource center system in west Texas and southern New Mexico.
The purpose of the Opportunity Center for the Homeless is to help those that can to move forward, and for those who can’t, to protect them. Currently, we operate four homeless shelters for single adult men and women, families, and elderly females; and six residential centers for the veterans, mentally ill, elderly, and single men and women currently enrolled in school/work programs.
The Opportunity Center for the Homeless provides services without any distinction to all homeless individuals who have turned to the shelter as a last resort. Each year, over 120, 000 meals, and 110,000 nights of lodging – among a wide array of services are provided to those in need.
