Give Your Time

We can’t exist without our volunteers! Each year over 2,000 volunteers come to our shelters to gift over 8,000 hours of time and talents!

The Opportunity Center for the Homeless is a community resource, and it could not positively change lives without the help and support of those gifting their time and resources.

Volunteers can serve on-site in our kitchens, administrative offices, clothes closet, outdoors, and off-site organizing donation drives that gather essential items for individuals experiencing homelessness or ready to leave it behind.

Our remarkable and talented volunteers help us in different capacities in the day-to-day operation of our programs.

We offer many opportunities for individuals or groups looking to give back to the community.

All volunteers are accepted. Children 16 and under must be with a parent or adult chaperone.

Volunteers must sit, stand, walk, stoop, and communicate verbally by phone or in person; and be able to lift to 30 pounds unassisted.

DRESS CODE:
The dress code is casual and comfortable, with closed-toe shoes.

SHIFTS:
We schedule volunteers for two to four hour time slots. Community Service hours are available year around, and no background check is needed.
