Substance Abuse Services
For many homeless individuals, receiving substance abuse services is often an important first step in the process of transitioning out of the shelters and into stable housing. Aliviane Inc. operates a Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) program on-site at the Opportunity Center to provide services to assist homeless clients dealing with mental illness, addiction, and substance abuse. PATH Program substance abuse and mental health counselors offer drug screening, assessment of needs, case management, and referrals to detox programs and other appropriate providers who can help stabilize persons who are homeless and abusing substances.
A large number of clients who abuse substances have serious mental illnesses or co-occurring substance use disorders and require specialized intervention. The goal of Aliviane Inc. treatment, intervention, and prevention services is to help stabilize these homeless clients and work towards breaking cycles of addiction and substance abuse.
